sometimes i feel that O levels is just the lamest excuse in the world.so is streaming. and sec 3 extra classes. and sec 1 science enrichemnt. and any shit you can think of.
explain? gladly.
today was my physics class test and my history test. i only studied a bit of history, and none for physics, cause i knew even if i chiong, it would not stay in my head for long. and the results? ironically, i got a 17/20 for physics. and i'm pretty sure i have just failed history for the very first time in my life.
so the paper for physics was easy but tricky. they practically were spilling out the answers on the first page for the other pages.
so the question for history was too difficult. to tell you the truth, the whole class was just stunned. the better male scorers all were holding on to their pens and staring at the paper with the blankest look they could muster. i myself didnt even think it was really a question, i mean, "......it was the promise which....". what promise? was there a lot? there was only ONE! and i must have wrote 'however' at least 3 times, indicating 3 turning points.
all these are just excuses.
mr chen probably intended to set a simpler paper.mrs chong probably was preparing us for the prelims and Os since she said this was a topic which was spotted.
and all this will be linked to my main point, which is today's band practice.
thursday! always a busy day. people like siying and so others thought of skipping band cause of the common test tomorrow. but they didnt. i thought it was because so many of the sec 4s who were going kept pressurizing them to go. haha. this is what i call a batch! :D
but so what batch. we didnt get the full attendence for sec 4s. yeah, we were missing like 3 or 4. but still, its not full!
and some other people, dont want to go for band because there's common test tomorrow. and i was like, ? what kind of a reason is that?
i was disappointed at people whom i didnt want to be disappointed at, even though they did came for band later. its like a bubble is burst.
then again, i think to myself. why didnt they study much earlier since the common test dates were released at least a week before? no time? then why wait till one day before? especially since its a band day. teachers may drop tests on you even sometimes 3 days before the test date itself, then why didnt you study on that very day? some of you probably say you didnt know there was a test till one day before. thats utter rubbish. it just shows that you dont listen in class enough to hear the teacher say "there will be a test this monday" or whatever.
seriously, i'm in no final position to say all these. sure, i may be band major, but no one will have the ultimate final say but they themself. i can talk, i can make them think, but i still cannot control their bodies.
bingquan claimed that he didnt know there was a history common test today, he asked mrs chong to postpone it. and what did mrs chong say, "all the more you should take the test, when you fail, you will learn".
i have not studied for tomorrow's major music common test. and combined science (physcs & chemistry) common test. but i didnt skip band today also, like whats the point. short term study wont get you anywhere. and i know i'm not the cramming or study type. so i rather spend my time in band today.
some of you might say its not true, and i came just because i'm the bm, i'm an exco, so i have to be in band.
then please, explain to me yvonne and catherine's situation. dont tell me yvonne came to band just to collect money for bedok north tickets. if thats the truth, she could have easily asked jocelyn to help her. dont tell me catherine came just to play festivo for combine. she has better things to do?
or maybe you can explain to me jiazhen. who scored a 0/20 for her maths test and is taking her maths common test tomorrow. dont give crap like "she want to come what" or "she's just a sec2". during band hours when she had nothing to do yet, she was asking sufei how to do cross multiplication at the table. sec 2 not important? please explain streaming and how un-important it is.

this is how i was taught by MY teachers.
so maybe you think that you have a lot of problems with your family, friends or anything. face it. more than half the whole has problems worst than you do.
there's no reason you should think that your year is very important, be it sec 1, 2, 3, and even 4. every year is important isnt it.
i finally understand why miss ng told me,
" what is so happy about? 6 points so what? its only o levels. he havent seen anything yet."
oh. yes. i do.
i have a 110-strong band this year. and it everyone thought about common tests harder than anything else, band wouldnt have been formed.
people just have so many excuses.
of course, i'm only looking on one side. its really biased of me, that i'm only standing on the 'i love band' side. therefore, the other side is for you to think about. i'm the opposition party, thats what i only want to be.
nathasha just asked me whether we would be having sec 3 games day soon. i'm really sorry sec 3s, but when not all of you have given suhaila the reply slips which was due last week, how am i going to organize one?
ok stop it.
used the IMac new computer in school today. so ultra cool. maybe i'll get one too?
walked home after band with cecilia and li li (sec 1 trombonist). heh. was fun. (:
